Are your Pockets hand sewn?

- We use a combination of modern and heirloom sewing practises. While we   use a modern sewing machine for the majority of our pockets, we finish every single one with hand sewn details and embellishments.  We also offer special pockets sewn using authentic methods only, for a slightly higher cost. What are Marigold Pockets' values?

We value sustainability, equality, crafts(wo)manship, and authenticity.  Our pockets are from sustainably sources fabric and reclaimed remnants Our pockets are designed to end clothing discrimination. All are handmade with care. Never in an assembly line process, each pocket recieves utmost care and attention to make sure it is of the highest quality. We learn from history to make a better future.

Are the pockets historically accurate?

Short answer: See long answer. Long Answer: We come up with our designs based on history.  We research fashion plates and illustrations from different time periods and take what we like (functionality, elegance) and leave what we don't like (societal norms of the time)/. Our pockets are sturdy, but easy to access, unlike 1700s pockets. Different designs echo different time periods; the Elderflower, for example, echoes the simplicity and function of early medieval clothing (based on men's clothing, as women's clothing was not functional at all). Our Dandelion pocket is modern and sharp, with reclaimed denim and patterned options.  We have designs for anyone from anytime!

What are Marigold Misfits?

Sometimes, we sew a perfectly good pocket with one imperfect seam. It would be a terrible waste to just not sell this pocket to a loving home, but it would also be rather rude to make you pay the full price for something just a step from perfection. That is why we have Marigold Misfits; a line of unique pockets with minor cosmetic blemishes. They are fully functional and beautiful in their own way, but we thought it fair to warn you that they might be a bit different!
