Our story
We started with an idea, as most businesses do. It was a chilly fall day. I tried to put a snack in the pockets of my women's size small jeans and discovered something awful: The pockets were tiny. The ones on the bag were completely sewn shut, being nothing but fake and decorative strips of fabric, and the front ones were so pathetically small that they couldn't fit a granola bar! This prompted some research, in which I learned that women's jeans pockets are (on average) 48% shorter and 6.5% narrower than men's pockets.
But it wasn't always this way! In the 18th century, women had large tie on pockets, large enough to hold plenty of stuff, Practical but also beautifully made. Our business started with one person, one sewing machine, and a passion for ending clothing discrimination. We strive to produce pockets made for modern life. But the one thing that we haven't changed is the pure crafts(wo)manship that was found in the originals. We use reclaimed materials in some of our pockets, and make all of them in a way that shows utmost care and responsibility for you, the customer, and the world around us.
Because women need pockets too.
