I made a second mock up after blowing up the pattern 415% per cent.

Ew! Messy seams, poor lacing...
But it did fit a lot better this time, so I began cutting the actual pieces!

I taped the pieces together using a window to line them up.

I used coins to way the pieces down. The fabric was, in fact, an old table cloth. It was a cotton poly blend, but it was what I had around. And the print was quite lovely!

After I cut out the pieces, I lay them on a sheet of white cotton and used a basting stitch to attach the pieces to each other.

Messy, messy huge basting stitches.

All those basting stitches took about an hour, but the lining looks great.

Next I cut out the pieces. The contrast looks lovely. But I think I added too much seam allowance. The final stays may be too big if I don't trim them down.

Then I ironed out the pieces, because I want an accurate final shape.

That's it for part two folks! Next time I will be hoping to finish all the tiny boning channel stitches, and then remove those horrible, ugly, basting stitches.
